SEO technically I'm no expert, but I have been following for years more or less intense. It interested me so much, because different opinions prevail, search engines appear every now and then change their weights and always new ideas and techniques. It is a must for every website to make it pretty for search engines. Today I would like to show you what I've done so far for my young SEO blogs. Unfortunately I have little time, all the tips you read, to implement. So far I have therefore limited in this blog on the basics. In the area-page optimization, this means in plain text:

  • I try to write appropriate and meaningful post title
  • I agree with (long) article by "more", where I try to be as teasers that the reader wants to read the rest.
  • I have the plugin "Sociable" by Joost De Valk integrated to readers to give under each post the option to include the article in its social bookmarks to spread through Facebook, email, transmit or via Twitter to "chirp" about it.
  • I also have the plugin "All in one SEO pack" by Michael Torbert installed and give this to each item a title, a fitting description and keywords individually. Question: Do I need this at all or the plugin will automatically tag the article as keywords ?
  • Of course I try to write articles that give my readers benefit (such as my experience report and comparison of direct banks , which incidentally is also the most widely read article)
  • Speaking URLs: I changed the permalinks of the articles in http://www.zielgruppe-ich.de/titel-des-artikels. When writing an article I put this - set manually - if that makes sense. The category or the date of the entry, I deliberately made the post URL removed because I believe I connected that Google ranks the first few words for the root / the domain as more important than words, the further from the "stem" from are. Attention, back links to older articles may be lost, more info here . But here too there are tips, such as the plugin "Platinum SEO Pack" (again note: This plugin is probably not compatible with the "All in One SEO Pack"), which uses a 301 redirect ( via ).
  • And last but not least, I have the plugin "Google XML Sitemaps" by Arne fallow Hold installed, which generates a sitemaps.org compatible sitemap of my WordPress blogs on a button (supports Ask.com, Google, MSN Search and YAHOO).
  • The requirement "content is king" I unfortunately can quantitatively satisfy not (yet), I consider myself the quality of writing an article of course you're going.

What I did for the "offpage" have made optimization? Honestly, almost nothing:

  • I've tried a link exchange. Hello? Anybody out there? Requests for this purpose from related sites and blogs are interesting gladly taken!
  • I call www.zielgruppe-ich.de every comment that I make on other blogs, though I am happy about every visitor who lands on here on my blog, but I see this in times of "no-follow" as the default settings of WordPress blogs not as a contribution to the Back link building on, but only as my contribution to the blogosphere.
  • I have entered the blog in the index of Google Blog Search - and first proposed, then waited and then looked forward ;-)
  • And of course I have entered into various blog directories and web directories anerderen.

As I said, have neither the time (and added), nor leisure for this, my actions so far restricted to the (my opinion) the most important and which could be implemented quickly and easily. But the more blogs you read, the more you get suggestions for further action. So this article was on this side yoast.com crucial for this article. Highly recommended. Realize everything comes out of the question for me, but I have decided to implement the following tips from Yoast, or to test:

  • Optimize headings: For the post title should generally define <h1>. The blog name on the home page should have <h1>, and on the remaining pages (single, post, and category pages) is never less than <h3>. A nice guide for this I have to webdeziner.de found.
  • Conversation push: Everyone is excited about comments that lead to conversations - it was just a nice greeting, a comment, question or even serious criticism. The foundation for a discussion of course puts the contents of the article. Readers are also happy to directly asked to take position. A good tip from Yoast: Changes in the template index.php the output text that appears when no comments have been made, for example "0 Comments" in "Be the first who comments" or "Still no comment while commenting desirable". Apart from this small modification in the code I have decided to install one for a suitable plugin, which allows the commentator to correct its votes comment afterwards and be informed as required by email regarding additional comments (subscribe to comments). And secondly, I wonder if I should allow Gravatars Is there actually a plugin which combines all the functions of a plugin, if someone or a good guide knows this -.? I am grateful for any tip!
  • Nice addition: Say thank you with a visitor for his first comment, for example using this plugin . For this purpose, redirected after submitting the first comment on a desired page. However, I can imagine that this is not well understood by the function which allows to edit the the Comments. Because the visitor is forwarded only once, then he has still the possibility to change the comment? I must try it.
  • Working with Tags: Frank of seo-marketing-blog.de two years ago in his article Top 10 WordPress SEO tips to onpage SEO advised to work with tags. This means, for one, offer the basis of tags and related products under one article to another, for example to allow using a tag-cloud navigation targeted visitors to your keywords. I already forgive tags on each item and I use to advertise the plugin "similar posts" to similar items. Now I only need the tag cloud. In this article on sw-guide.de way, you'll find links to three possible tagging plugins.

So, for all have not enough, the good Mr. Joost De Valk has 40 slides with 40 WordPress SEO tips using SlideShare placed online. Oh for all those who have resolved to set up a new blog and for those who would break away from their usual design, I put this list to your heart (via seowelt.de ). You will find there ready SEO optimized WordPress themes. Each theme has a so-called SEO score. The higher the value, the more attractive to Google and Co. Clever!
