Good event, nice games, a great German multi-cultural team gives us a great sense of togetherness. Unfortunately, not allenorts.

Final whistle: The German team loses to Spain, Lahm is the interview in tears, the German fan zones dissolve and there is no motorcade. Not quite:

In some places in Germany was still honking and celebrating! Very few of these were good-humored but Spaniards, but either football opponents, who were glad that it's over, or German (with and without migration background), which were simply against the German team. Schadenfreude had become widespread - too bad. Even so, some from neighboring states last night across the border to Germany and went to blow the horn to celebrate, for example, a couple of Austrians yesterday evening in Lindau on Lake Constance (my corner).

But last night was not only provoked or gleefully celebrated: I was told that after the departure of the French man Creates bewappnet also German football fans with flags across the French border went to celebrate there and start motorcades. Since I get such a throat! This is provocative, rude and disrespectful and does not contribute to a better cooperation within Europe!

I want to hide from you not a great statement by a German-Turkish friend, which he had posted early today on Facebook - sorry for the K-word :-D

I think it's ridiculous as some would have done the Germans .... The German team was a German "Kanack-Eleven", which have represented GERMANY. Rejoice as "Kanack" not for Spain, but considering you where and what our nation really is?!

I'm not sad that Germany is excreted, but happy for Spain ... why should I?

That hits the spot. Schadenfreude is true for sports such as ball or exercise, on the other hand should not be a free pass to the provocation.

Our national team is multicultural: Jogi has a multicultural cadre, he has players with roots in Brazil, Spain, Poland, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Turkey, Tunisia, Nigeria, Ghana and Russia ( the Tagesspiegel called it our "International Team").

And that's good. Nunmal This Elf is a mirror of our society that has shown us that together we can achieve great things. Even the foreign media (even the English) were very pleased with this very young team.

So, now it is fingers crossed for 3rd place and I dedicate myself again to my current blog topics :-)

Please do not get me wrong, this article is kind of off topic, but this needs to get out. I have many friends with a foreign background. Almost everyone could identify with our national team - and the links!

How do you think? Do you think also that sport is a good means to a better sense of community? Were there any among you some who danced out of line?
